Loyalty Reward and Point Allocation in Action
A bank and airline offered loyalty points to customers spending on co-branded credit cards. The Head of Innovation at the bank was running a task force to identify new ways to retain mortgage customers. The task force wanted to allocate airline loyalty points for mortgage borrowing amounts. To do this effectively they would need to match customer databases with the airline on a recurring basis to accurately allocate points. Privacy and data governance was of utmost importance to the bank.
Using Data Republic’s Senate Matching technology, customer databases were matched without PII ever having to leave the bank’s firewall environment. A recurring data project was created to deliver monthly match rates for the bank and airline customers. Governance workflows and license terms ensured the bank and airline were adhering to proper data sharing standards.
Matching also uncovered shared customers who were dormant or had not connected their own mortgage and loyalty accounts. This gave both the bank and airline the opportunity to offer these customers new incentives the customer was not taking advantage of.
