Anthem.ai launches the Modernizing Behavioural Health Hackathon

Anthem.ai has launched their Modernizing Behavioural Health Hackathon. Competing teams will be given secure access to Anthem’s Digital Data Sandbox* to find solutions to health problems, specifically targeting mental health and substance abuse challenges. Anthem provides one of the largest certified de-identified health datasets in the US, and the hackathon provides secure access for data and industry experts to this rich data source.

The hackathon is split into three defined challenges to guide solution design:

  • Challenge #1 – External Factors Driving Mental Health, including racial disparities
  • Challenge #2 – Substance Abuse and the Impact on Mental Health
  • Challenge #3 – Wildcard

Winners will be determined based on the best project regardless of the chosen challenge category. With a prize pool of $20,000, this event is an exciting opportunity to tackle real healthcare challenges and create solutions that can be put into practical real world use.

Data Republic is a technology provider for the event. Data Republic’s Senate platform will be used by participants to gain secure access to Anthem’s Digital Data Sandbox* in a workspace environment.

The hackathon runs from September 8 until October 3 2020 and registration is now open for individuals and teams. Sign up to the Anthem.ai Modernizing Behavioural Health Hackathon now.

*Access to certified de-identified data within Anthem’s Digital Data Sandbox will be provided pursuant to the participating startup signing Anthem’s Workspace User Attestation Agreement. No identifiable Anthem member data is used in the Sandbox.
